12 Amazing Uses Of Garlic

HEALTH IS WEALTH

There’s so much more to garlic than cooking and vampire slaying (have you heard about that?). From treating cold sores and athlete’s foot to repelling mosquitoes and repairing glass, here are some clever ways to use garlic effectively and save money.

Health & Beauty
1. Maintain Good Health. With properties that are thought to help your heart and liver, boost your metabolism of iron, prevent cancer, and fight against bacteria and viruses, garlic is a vital component of a healthy diet. Try to eat one or two cloves every day!
2. Cure a Cold. For thousands of years, garlic has been known as a treatment for coughs and colds. And, while the science isn’t all there yet, limited research has suggested that garlic will help treat these wintertime ailments. Mince a clove of garlic and steep it in hot water for about 5 minutes. Strain out the garlic and drink. It’s a natural cough syrup! You can also try to eat 3 raw cloves a day around cold and flu season to prevent catching a bug.
3. Get Rid of Acne. Cut a clove of garlic in half and rub it over the affected area. Done regularly, the antibacterial properties found in garlic cloves will help to clear up your complexion.
4. Treat Cold Sores. Like in treating acne, cut a clove of garlic in half and apply it directly to the sore. It might sting a little, but it’s been shown to work just as effectively as commercial treatments for getting rid of those unsightly sores.
5. Treat Athlete’s Foot. If there’s anything garlic doesn’t like, it’s fungus, so treating your athlete’s foot with the stuff works wonders! Crush a couple of cloves and toss them in a foot bath filled with warm water. Soak for about half an hour.

Pest Control
6. Use as a Pesticide in your Garden. Skip those harmful commercial pesticides and use a natural, DIY (Do It Yourself) method with garlic instead!
To make Garlic spray; blend 100 grams of grated and crushed garlic cloves, 0.5 litres of water and 10 grams of soap (Use potash based soft soap that is used for washing dishes and not the modern washing powders that contain caustic soda which will harm plants). Mix well. Strain the mixture through a fine cloth. Dilute the solution in 5 litres of water.
How to use: Mix the solution well before applying to the affected plants. Use as a spray or sprinkle using twigs or grass tied together to form a whisk. For best effect, use the mixture immediately.
Garlic is effective against a wide range of diseases and insects at different stages in their life cycle (egg, larvae, adult). This includes ants, aphids, army worms, caterpillars, Colorado beetle, diamondback moth, pulse beetle, whitefly, wireworm, false codling moth, imported cabbage worm, khapra beetle, mice, mites, moles, Mexican bean beetle, peach borers and termites as well as fungi and bacteria.

Omosexy Calls On Sango To Strike Her Detractors

Did someone whisper to Omosexy that her reality TV series “Omotola: The Real Me” is fake because she has called on the Yoruba god of thunder, Sango, to strike the teeth of such persons. Harsh?
Well, she must have been hard hit to hear that a TV series she put her time and effort to make successful and as real as possible is been touted as unreal in some quarters. See her tweet below…

Face Off: Between Nigerian And Ghanian Actresses, Who Is Hotter? [Photos]

I was tempted to make this comparison following this statement I saw from a Nigerian website that seemed to suggest Ghanian actresses are hotter than Nigeria’s. Here’s what the author wrote below:
“When you compare Nigerian actresses with Ghanaian actresses, you will see that the Ghanaian Actresses Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari and Yvonne Nelson are hotter than Nigeria’s Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Mercy Johnson, Ini Edo and Tonto Dike on and off screen.”
I don’t mean to be disrespectful to the Ghanian beauties who are as talented as their Nigerian counterparts but saying they are hotter than Nigeria’s screen goddesses is just gross. That’s my opinion.
What’s yours – Are Ghanian actresses really hotter than Nigerian actresses? Meanwhile, the photos below are kinda skewed in favor of the Nigerian divas but notwithstanding, you recognize most of these faces and you know who’s hotter. All vote now!

Seth MacFarlane Says He’s Never Hosting The Oscars Again

The Kardashian family and other folks who take things too seriously can rest easy… ’cause “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane says there’s “no way” he’ll return to the Academy Awards as a host.
Despite his great performance, MacFarlane’s hosting performance has been the subject of some major media scrutiny, especially by people who take the awards way too seriously … yet, ratings for the show were reportedly up this year. Still, when Seth was asked on Twitter if he would ever return as the host … he tweeted back, “No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though.”
Oh, and in case you forgot the joke he made about the Kardashian family, here’s what he said while talking about Ben Affleck in “Argo”: “First time I saw him with all that dark facial hair, I thought ‘My god, the Kardashians have finally made the jump to film.’” True that; the Kardashians? How hairy.
