A 22-year-old man collapsed and died on Tuesday at Kubwa after drinking a bottle of soft drink.
A
source close to the family said the deceased, who lives at Berger Camp,
had been suffering from sickle cell anaemia and had undergone several
kinds of treatment.
According
to the source, he had taken his bath in preparation to go out that
fateful day when he suddenly noticed some discomfort and had to take
some medication.
It
was gathered that after taking the drugs, he took a bottle of soft
drink and suddenly stopped breathing, and was quickly rushed to the
Kubwa General hospital where he was confirmed dead.
At
the hospital, the head, Accident and Emergency unit, Paul Olise,
confirmed the death, but said his corpse was immediately moved away from
the hospital by the relations for burial.
