Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has sacked the entire state
executive council after a meeting with the affected political appointees
in his office on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Cabinet in the
state’s civil service, Mr. Dotun Omokemi, the decision was taken in
order to create room for fresh blood the governor intends to inject into
governance “in the quest to serve the state better”.
Gov. Ajimobi thanked the commissioners and Special Advisers who made
up the executive council for their contributions so far and directed
them to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in their various
ministries.
The purge affected all the commissioners, special advisers, secretary
to the state government, Akin Olajide and chief of staff, Adeolu
Akande.
