Latreasa Goodman ordered a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets in a McDonald’s in
Fort Pierce, Florida and was informed that, sadly, there were no
McNuggets left. Ms. Goodman then asked for a refund, but was allegedly
told by the McDonald’s manager that she could not get her money back,
and would have to order something else from McDonald’s vast menu.
In Ms. Goodman’s defense, McDonald’s probably should have refunded her
for her purchase when she could not get what she ordered. She had a
right to be miffed about not getting her McNuggets.
However, what Latreasa Goodman did next was inexcusable. She called 911 three separate times over the incident. Yes, THREE times! Each time she called 911, she explained to the 911 dispatcher her dramatic “emergency.” Latreasa Goodman was told during her first call that a police officer had been dispatched to talk to her about the incident.
The police arrested Ms. Goodman when they arrived for misusing the emergency call system. 911 is NOT for minor incidents like not getting your McNuggets. It is for life-or-death emergencies.
She was placed under arrest by Florida police for misusing the 911 system.
